🚀 Exciting News from Dubai’s Urban Transit Landscape! 🚀


Dubai’s esteemed Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is gearing up for a monumental leap in urban mobility with the announcement of the construction phase for the much-anticipated Dubai Metro Blue Line project. Setting a bold deadline of May 19, RTA is calling upon top-tier consortiums to submit their bids for this pioneering contract.


🌍 The kickoff for this venture began in January, with prequalification notifications and the issuance of tender documents. The arena has seen the formation of six powerhouse consortia, ready to bring their expertise to the forefront:


1. Hyundai Rotem and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation alongside Nippon.

2. A blend of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation, Limak Holding, and Mapa Group.

3. The technological prowess of Siemens, paired with Samsung, Larsen & Toubro, and Wade Adams.

4. A collaborative effort from Alstom, FCC, and China State Construction Engineering Corporation.

5. CAF joining forces with China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group and Arab Contractors.

6. The strategic alliance between Hitachi and WeBuild.


💰 With a budget running into several billion dollars, this project stands as a testament to Dubai’s commitment to enhancing its infrastructure, inviting a synergy between global contractors and local expertise.


The chosen contractor will shoulder a comprehensive range of responsibilities, covering civil and electromechanical works, rolling stock, and rail systems, alongside a three-year maintenance and operations stint post-completion.


🔍 Project Highlights:


• A seamless 30km connection integrating the existing Red and Green lines, with 15.5km underground and 14.5km elevated paths.

• The blueprint includes 14 state-of-the-art stations, enhancing Dubai’s urban fabric with 7 elevated and 5 underground stops, including strategic interchange and transfer stations.

• An ambitious scope covering the supply of 28 driverless trains, a depot for up to 60 trains, and associated infrastructure developments.
